I have had a very busy few days at work.
I have been

•renting pageant gowns left and right

•doing hair & makeup

•coaching walks

Just A LOT.

All on top of being a mama…

It has been BUSY.

I was sitting back thinking today about how many pep talks/mama talks  I gave my girls this weekend for their pageant.

The fear of rejection and not winning was real.

I could see girls comparing themselves to each other.

Shaming and condemning themselves…

I love pageants & think they are so much fun, but this one made me sad a few times.

It’s no longer fun whenever you can’t enjoy yourself because you feel like you have to be better or have to win.

I am using the pageant to relate this message, but I’m talking about the spiritual side of things.

I’ve been guilty of this myself when it comes to my pageant girls or on the spiritual side.

I like my girls to win. I push them to win, but sometimes I let my pride get in my way and I lose focus on the real reason we are here.

How many times do we walk around trying to flaunt how much we know about Jesus, or trying to make others feel like they aren’t as worthy of knowing HIM?

Guilty. Guilty. Guilty.

I’ve done it.

I have looked down on others when it hasn’t been my place. I have tried to compete of knowing more and acting like the “better Christian”…

That right there is hard to admit and a hard pill to swallow, but it’s true.

I’m sure a lot of others have too.

In this past 2 years I have had to go through a huge trial that has knocked me back down to reality.

This is NOT a competition.

Jesus is full of love that doesn’t have to be competed for.

I don’t need to be worrying about who knows more about the Bible or who can pray the most in a day, etc…

I need to worry about myself & only myself.

If we start focusing on each others sins or trying to compete to outdo each other, we are the ones that are losing.

You can’t compete when it comes to Jesus.

He doesn’t have runner ups.

There is no first and second place.

He is an abundance of Love that is for everyone.

You are worthy to be loved.

If you are living everyday serving Jesus Christ and focusing on him you are winning.

One day, You will wear the crown 👑

You are so right in both areas. The girls are blessed to have You and we are Blessed to have The Lord.
